EAST LANSING - MSU's depth chart for the home opener against the Idaho Vandals reveals some surprises including freshman T.J. Williams vaulting into the offensive playing group.

The biggest surprise on offense is the presence of freshman T. J. Williams from Fork Union Academy in the playing group. The Tallahassee, FL., native is listed behind senior Matt Trannon at the "X" position.

As expected, sophomore Javon Ringer will be the starter with Jehuu Caulcrick backing up and freshman A.J. Jimmerson in reserve.

On defense, MSU has two junior college transfers, Ogemdi Nwagbuo will start at defensive tackle and Ervin Baldwin makes his debut at rush end. Baldwin recorded 14 1/2 sacks at Reedley CC last season.

Not surprising is the presence of freshman Brett Swenson as the team's field goal kicker.
