AAA: Oklahoma City 10 - (@) Omaha 5
W - Holland (4-1)
16-10, 2.0 GU

Brandon Boggs (.333/.437/.600) is suddenly far and away the hottest hitter in the Rangers’ system.

The 27-year-old was 3-for-3 with a triple, two walks, and two runs batted in on Tuesday evening in Omaha. Over his last nine games, he is 14-for-32 with three doubles, two triples, three homers and seven walks.

The rest of the Oklahoma City offense was also strong, as the club combined for 10 runs on 12 hits.

Hernan Iribarren (1/4, 2B, BB), Chris Davis (1/4, 2B, BB), Mitch Moreland (1/5, 2B) and Emerson Frostad (2/3, 2B, BB) all doubled once.

Though Frostad has just played sparingly this season, he is 12-for-34 with three doubles and two triples.

Esteban German singled twice and stole two bases, giving him 10 swipes on the season.

Starter Derek Holland (0.93 ERA/.224 BAA) continued to mow down the opposition, as he earned the victory after yielding two runs in five innings of work. The left-hander allowed four hits, walked one, and struck out eight.

Making his Triple-A debut, Tanner Scheppers allowed one run––a solo homer to former RedHawk Scott Thorman––in two innings. Scheppers two innings went as follows: walk, strikeout, single, double play, groundout, flyout, home run, single, strikeout.

Pedro Strop allowed two runs on a pair of hits in the ninth inning.

AA: Frisco 6 - (@) San Antonio 4
W - Beavan (3-2)
SV - Phillips (3)
13-12, 1.0 GB

In his last two starts, Blake Beavan is throwing more pitches, but he’s also getting more strikeouts.

On Tuesday, the right-hander threw 88 pitches in five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits. He walked two and struck out a season-high seven batters.

Plenty of players chipped in on the offensive effort, as five different players hit doubles.

They were Marcus Lemon (2/4, 2B), Joey Butler (1/4, 2B, BB), John Whittleman (1/4, 2B, BB), Kevin Richardson (1/4, 2B, BB) and Renny Osuna (2/4, 2B).

After a slow start, Lemon is hitting .381 over his last ten contests with four extra-base hits.

Matt Lawson (2/4), Wes Bankston (2/5) and Andy Jenkins (2/5) all singled twice.

The RoughRiders relief effort was fantastic once again, as Brennan Garr [1.1 IP], Ben Snyder [1.2 IP] and Zach Phillips [1 IP] all combined for scoreless ball. Phillips fanned all three batters he faced in the ninth, now giving him 17 punchouts in 12 innings.

A+: Bakersfield 5 - (@) Visalia 0
W - Pimentel (3-1)
9-13, 5.5 GB

After a dreadful start his last time out, right-hander Carlos Pimentel (4.26 ERA/.270 BAA) helped Bakersfield pick up the shutout.

The 20-year-old worked a season-best five scoreless innings, allowing just four hits. He walked two and struck out two.

Bakersfield didn’t hit any home runs in the game, but Mike Bianucci (2/4, 2B), Chris Gradoville (2/4, 2B, BB) and Jake Kaase (2/4, 2B) all singled once and doubled once.

Catcher Jose Felix returned to the lineup and singled twice in four at-bats. Felix had returned home to tend to a personal issue.

Relievers Shane Zegarac [1.1 IP], Cody Eppley [1.2 IP] and Tyler Tufts [1 IP] closed it out with scoreless relief. Eppley fanned four batters in his outing, giving him 15 punchouts versus just one walk in 12.1 innings this season.

A: Hickory 5 - Asheville 4 (13 innings)
W - Lueke (1-1)
HR - Santana (4), DiFazio (3)
16-10, 0.5 GU

Hickory extended its winning streak to eight with an extra-innings walkoff win on Tuesday.

Designated hitter Cristian Santana (.264/.326/.483) was 2-for-5 with a double, a homer, and a walk overall, but it was the homer in the bottom of the 13th that sent the fans home happy.

Slumping catcher Vin DiFazio also socked a round-tripper. He was 2-for-6 in the contest.

Ed Koncel (1/1, 2B) and Michael Ortiz (1/4, 2B, BB) both doubled.

Leury Garcia (1/3, 3 BB), Miguel Velazquez (1/4, 2 BB), Matt West (2/6) and Edwin Garcia (3/5) all reached multiple times.

Starting pitcher Joe Wieland posted a quality outing, giving up three runs in six innings of work. The young righty walked one and struck out eight.

Hector Nelo chipped in with two scoreless innings of relief, lowing his earned-run average to 3.86.

Braden Tullis (1.10 ERA/.220 BAA) fanned five batters in 2.1 scoreless innings.

Josh Lueke (0.00 ERA/.154 BAA) struck out five of his own in 2.2 frames. The 6-foot-5 hurler allowed just an unearned run and picked up the victory. Lueke, who has yet to allow an earned run this season, has 25 strikeouts in 13 innings with the Crawdads.
