Moscoso threw four scoreless innings

The Rafters finished with a .500 mark, two games behind the division-winning Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League's West Division.

Mexican Pacific League


No Rangers appeared on Sunday.

Venezuelan Winter League


Guillermo Moscoso (3.38 ERA/.286 BAA) scattered five singles through four scoreless innings on Sunday evening. He walked one and struck out five.

After going through a mid-season slump, the 26-year-old Moscoso has rebounded to surrender just two runs over his last 13.2 innings of work.

Magallanes shortstop Elvis Andrus singled once in four at-bats. He also scored one run.

Centerfielder David Paisano (.225/.329/.408) returned to the La Guaira starting lineup for the first time in nearly a month on Sunday. Paisano batted leadoff and went 1-for-3 with a base on balls.

First baseman Max Ramirez singled twice, walked, and drove home a run in his three plate appearances.

Second baseman Renny Osuna was hitless in four at-bats, dropping his average to .345

Margarita's Ray Olmedo played third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk.

Dominican Winter League


Shortstop Joaquin Arias' batting average dipped under .300 after he went hitless in three at-bats. Arias did pick up his 11th RBI of the winter.

Julio Borbon had one base hit in four trips.

Esteban German singled once and walked once in four plate appearances.

Toros centerfielder Engel Beltre played in just his third game of the winter, and he grounded out to second base in his only at-bat.

Puerto Rican Winter League


Mike Ballard earned his first start on Sunday, and he also suffered his first loss. The left-hander yielded two runs over 4.1 innings. He allowed six hits while walking three and striking out three.

On the winter, the 25-year-old has still been an excellent performer for Caguas. Ballard has a 2.55 earned-run average through 17.2 innings, and he has consistently thrown strikes while being difficult to hit.
