Ortiz worked a scoreless inning

A handful of Rangers prospects appeared in Sunday's winterball action, but only left-hander Joseph Ortiz had much success. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Mexican Pacific League


No Rangers appeared on Sunday.

Venezuelan Winter League


La Guaira catcher Max Ramirez went 0-for-3, striking out twice. In his first seven games, Ramirez is 3-for-26 [.115] with two doubles.

Jorge Quintero allowed two runs on four hits in two innings of work, walking one and fanning three. Lefty Joseph Ortiz worked a scoreless seventh inning. He gave up one hit.

Dominican Winter League


Escogido second baseman and leadoff hitter Joaquin Arias singled once in five at-bats.

Warner Madrigal had his struggles, as he allowed two runs on a walk and a hit without recording an out.

Once again, Andres James appeared as a pinch runner for Licey, but he didn't get a plate appearance.
