Justin Smoak had two home runs and four runs batted in for Team USA on Sunday while starter Kasey Kiker issued seven walks in only three innings. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.
Baseball World Cup
The U.S. improved to 6-0 in the second round with its 12-3 win over the host Italians. DH
Justin Smoak
was 2-for-5 with two home runs, a walk, and four runs batted in. He has eight home runs in eight World Cup games.
Starting pitcher
Kasey Kiker
struggled with his control, walking seven batters in just three innings pitched. He allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out four.
Canada defeated Chinese Taipei, 5-3, to move into a second-place tie with the Taiwanese. DH
Emerson Frostad
was 0-for-2 with a base on balls in the six-inning game.

The AZL Rangers failed to quality for the Arizona League playoffs.
DSL: DSL Rangers1 - SEASON OVER

The DSL Rangers1 failed to qualify for the Dominican Summer League playoffs.
DSL: DSL Rangers2 - SEASON OVER

After winning the division, the DSL Rangers2 got a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but they were swept in the best-of-three Dominican Summer League semifinal series.
