Justin Smoak didn't hit a home run on Wednesday. That's because Team USA didn't play. They'll return to action against Chinese Taipei on Thursday.

The Blaze were locked in a tight contest when Richard Bleier left the game after surrendering three runs on five hits in 6.1 innings.

But the normally solid bullpen imploded, and the Giants used 11 runs over their final two at-bats to cruise to victory and end Bakersfield's season.

Right-handers Adalberto Flores and Tyler Tufts combined to allow eight runs while walking six batters in just one inning of work.

Centerfielder David Paisano remained red-hot in the Cal League playoffs, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

Leadoff man Matt Lawson was 2-for-3 with a triple.

Davis Stoneburner (1/4) had the team's only other hit.

After winning the division, the DSL Rangers2 got a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but they were swept in the best-of-three Dominican Summer League semifinal series.
