Team Canada first baseman Emerson Frostad helped his teammates finish off an unbeaten first-round at the Baseball World Cup on Saturday evening. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

The United States defeated China, 8-0, to advance to the second round, but Justin Smoak was out of the lineup and Kasey Kiker didn’t pitch.

Canada steamrolled Sweden 19-1 in just five innings to finish undefeated in the first round. First baseman Emerson Frostad was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run batted in.

Recently traded outfielder Tim Smith had another excellent night, going 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. He was also hit by a pitch.

The RedHawks failed to qualify for the Pacific Coast League playoffs.

The RoughRiders failed to qualify for the Texas League playoffs.

Ryan Tatusko was outstanding, but he was a hard-luck loser on Saturday, as the Blaze dropped a 1-0 decision to San Jose.

Tatusko yielded just one run on five hits in six innings, walking one and striking out nine.

Reliever Adalberto Flores pitched two scoreless innings, fanning three.

Left fielder Mike Bianucci led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double.

Matt Lawson (2/4), Davis Stoneburner (1/4), Mauro Gomez (1/4) and David Paisano (1/3) had the other hits.

The Blaze will take on San Jose once again on Sunday.

The DSL Rangers1 failed to qualify for the Dominican Summer League playoffs.

DSL: DSL Rangers2 - SEASON OVER
47-15, 9.0 GU

After winning the division, the DSL Rangers2 got a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but they were swept in the best-of-three Dominican Summer League semifinal series.
