Like his relief appearances, it was phenomenal.
The left-hander took a perfect game into the fifth and a no-hitter to the sixth. In the end, he surrendered just an unearned run on one hit in seven innings, walking two and striking out seven.
Even the hit that Phillips gave up was, according to accounts, a questionable scoring decision.
In 37.2 innings this season, the 22-year-old has allowed 17 hits while walking eight and fanning 41.
Lefties are hitting a hopeless .071 against him.
The Blaze managed just four singles in the game. They came from Engel Beltre (1/4), Jonathan Greene (1/3), Aja Barto (1/3) and Edwin Garcia (1/3).
