Right fielder Mitch Moreland singled twice in four at-bats.
Tim Smith added a pinch-hit RBI single.
Relievers Ryan Falcon and Tanner Roark helped keep the Blaze in the game.
Falcon pitched four scoreless innings, giving up three hits and no walks. He struck out five.
Roark dropped his ERA to 2.40 after he surrendered just one hit in three shutout frames.

Second baseman Erik Morrison proved to be the difference with his solo home run in the sixth inning, giving Hickory a 2-1 lead that would hold up.
Right fielder Mike Bianucci (1/4, 2B) belted his tenth double of the season. He had the club's other RBI.
Doug Hogan was 2-for-3 with a double and a free pass.
