Moreland had two extra-base hits

Pitcher Kennil Gomez and right fielder Mitch Moreland combined to carry Bakersfield to a victory over the Stockton Ports on Monday evening. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

Oklahoma City entered the bottom of the eighth inning training 1-0, but they rallied to victory by scoring five runs in the frame.

Starting pitcher Elizardo Ramirez worked around five hits and four walks in 6.1 innings, as he allowed just one run.

Left-handed reliever A.J. Murray struck out two in a perfect inning of work.

The RedHawks had no extra-base hits in the game.

Second baseman Jose Vallejo singled twice in four at-bats.

Royce Huffman (1/4) and Max Ramirez (1/1) both had two-RBI singles in the eighth inning.

Left fielder Brandon Boggs was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

Brian Gordon finished the game with 1.2 innings of scoreless ball, lowering his earned-run average to 1.17.

Kasey Kiker got the loss despite pitching fairly well. The southpaw surrendered two runs on five hits in five innings, walking three and striking out six.

Catcher Manny Pina raised his batting average to an amazing .475 with three hits in four at-bats.

DH Chad Tracy (2/4) and SS Guilder Rodriguez (2/4) both singled twice.

John Whittleman was 0-for-2 with a pair of walks.

Bakersfield was carried by right fielder Mitch Moreland on Monday. The Mississippi State product was 3-for-5 with a double and a two-run homer.

Starting pitcher Kennil Gomez scattered seven hits through six innings, allowing two runs. He walked one and struck out six.

Adalberto Flores, who earned the victory, fanned four in two hitless frames. Flores had racked up 20 punchouts in 12.2 innings this season.

Left fielder Tim Smith (1/5, 2B) hit his fourth double.

First baseman Ian Gac was 2-for-3 with a base on balls.
