Martin Perez, Cody Eppley and Jake Brigham combined to pitch another excellent game for the Hickory Crawdads on Sunday afternoon. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

AAA: Oklahoma City 8 - New Orleans 12 (10 innings)
L - Strop (1-1)


Neftali Feliz allowed four runs on six hits in five innings, walking two and striking out seven. Three runs his runs allowed came in the sixth inning, when he failed to retire a hitter.

Third baseman Esteban German (2/5, 2B, BB) and left fielder Casey Benjamin (1/3, 2B, 2 BB) both doubled.

Shortstop Joaquin Arias raised his average to .241 with three singles and two stolen bases.

Playing in his first Triple-A game, second baseman Jose Vallejo singled one and walked once in five plate appearances.

Reliever Warner Madrigal walked two batters in two innings, but he didn't surrender a run or a hit.

Closer Pedro Strop was bombed for six runs on six hits -- including two homers -- in two innings pitched. He walked two and struck out one.

Rehabbing starters Kris Benson and Brandon Backe went head-to-head on Sunday, with both pitchers throwing five innings.

Benson tossed 62 pitches, giving up three runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out four.

Craig Gentry (1/4, 3B) hit his first triple of the year while Marcus Lemon (1/4, 2B) and Justin Smoak (1/3, 2B, BB) both doubled.

Reliever Kea Kometani scattered six hits in three innings, giving up only one run.

Michael Kirkman (2.89 ERA/.257 BAA) picked up his second win of the season after yielding three runs in five innings. He allowed six hits, walked four, and struck out six.

Left fielder Tim Smith was 1-for-3 with a home run -- his third -- and two walks.

Ian Gac (1/4, 2B) had a double and two runs batted in.

Centerfielder Joey Butler singled three times in four at-bats while Renny Osuna had a pair of base hits.

Southpaw Corey Young earned his first hold of the year with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit.

Brennan Garr fanned four in two shutout frames to earn his second save.

Martin Perez (2.42 ERA/.176 BAA) picked up his second ever professional victory on Sunday, yielding one run on two hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out three without issuing a base on balls.

Reliever Cody Eppley finished off the sixth, getting the final two outs without allowing a run.

Catcher Doug Hogan (1/3, 3B) and third baseman Erik Morrison (2/4, 3B) both tripled in the game.

Cleanup hitter Matt West was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in.

Second baseman Jake Kaase was 2-for-4 with a solo home run, his first of the year.

Jake Brigham lowered his ERA to 1.77 after he tossed three scoreless innings, earning his first save of the season.
