Poveda took a no-hitter into the seventh inning

Omar Poveda turned in his best start of the season on Friday while Mike Bianucci was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

RedHawks starting pitcher Jared Hyatt served up 10 runs on eight hits in four innings. He walked four and struck out two.

Oklahoma City produced just two runs without the benefit of an extra-base hit in the game.

Shortstop Joaquin Arias (3/5) singled three times while Brandon Boggs was 2-for-5.

Greg Golson (2/4) also singled twice.

Reliever Beau Vaughan struck out three in two hitless innings of relief.

Brian Gordon gave up three hits in two innings, but he didn't allow a run.

Omar Poveda took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. The right-hander ended up surrendering three runs -- two earned -- over seven innings pitched. He gave up four hits, walked two, and struck out five.

Leadoff man Craig Gentry went 3-for-4 with a double and four runs scored. He stole his sixth base of the season.

Justin Smoak (2/4, 2B, BB), Chad Tracy (2/4, 2B), Steve Murphy (1/4, 2B, BB) and John Whittleman (2/4, 2B) also doubled.

Shortstop Marcus Lemon singled once and walked once.

Clayton Hamilton lowered his ERA to 2.76 with a pair of shutout innings in relief of Poveda.

Michael Main earned his first victory of the season with five innings of shutout ball. He scattered five hits, walked three, and struck out four.

Tanner Roark was excellent in long relief, yielding one run on four hits in three innings. The Illinois native walked one and fanned three.

Hot-hitting shortstop Davis Stoneburner was 3-for-5 with a double, raising his average to .277.

Mitch Moreland (1/3, 2B, 2 BB) also doubled while Engel Beltre (2/4) and Ian Gac (2/5) both singled twice.

Evan Reed's ERA fell to 0.96 after he hurled a shutout ninth inning.

Left-hander Cliff Springston turned in another excellent start, giving up just two runs on three hits in seven innings. He struck out one without walking a batter.

Through 23 innings, Springston has just nine strikeouts on the season, but he has walked just three and yielded only 18 base hits.

Slugging outfielder Mike Bianucci (.373/.435/.680) was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk, and a stolen base. The former Auburn Tiger has five extra-base hits in his last three games.

Third baseman Matt West had another strong offensive performance, going 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run homer, his second bomb of the year.

David Paisano (2/4, 2B) and Jake Kaase (1/4, 2B) both doubled.

Hickory closer Matt Nevarez struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning, notching his third save of the season. Nevarez has surrendered three hits in 7.1 innings this year, striking out ten.
