One day after getting blown away in the season opener, the Frisco RoughRiders took a 10-0 beating to the Springfield Cardinals. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of Friday's minor league action.

Neftali Feliz was constantly having to work out of trouble in his first Triple-A start on Friday, but the end results was four scoreless innings. The fireballing righty needed 85 pitches to complete those frames, and he gave up four hits and walked six batters. But the end result was no runs scored. Feliz fanned four.

Thomas Diamond followed with just the fourth relief appearance of his professional career. He was effective, allowing only a solo home run in 2.2 innings. He struck out three.

The RedHawks had four doubles, getting one apiece from Joaquin Arias (2/5, 2B), Brandon Boggs (1/3, 2B, 2 BB), Ben Harrison (1/3, 2B, 2 BB) and Greg Golson (1/3, 2B).

Centerfielder Julio Borbon singled twice in five at-bats.

Newly acquired third baseman Esteban German was 0-for-3 with a walk. German Duran, who played second, was 1-for-4 with a run batted in.

Brian Gordon earned the save after surrendering one run in 2.1 innings of work.

Left-hander Kasey Kiker was outstanding in his first Double-A start, hurling five scoreless innings. The former first round pick limited Springfield to just two hits. He walked one and struck out five.

Right fielder Steve Murphy got the ‘Riders on the board early with his two-run homer in the top of the second inning. He added a walk later in the contest.

Catcher Manny Pina (1/3, 2 BB) also drove home a pair of runs.

Frisco broke the game open with five runs in the sixth inning on seven walks, three wild pitches, and one hit batter.

Justin Smoak added a solo home run for good measure in the eighth inning. He also walked.

DH Chad Tracy singled twice and walked once.

Relievers Clayton Hamilton (2 IP), Beau Jones (1 IP) and John Bannister (1 IP) combined to close out Frisco’s first shutout of the season.

Starting pitcher Tim Murphy pitched well in his first two innings, but he fell apart in the third and fourth. The UCLA product surrendered seven runs -- just two earned -- in 3.1 innings. He gave up five hits and walked five batters, fanning three.

Left fielder Tim Smith had an excellent all-around game, going 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk, and a stolen base.

Catcher Jose Felix (2/3) and shortstop Davis Stoneburner (2/2) both had two hits and a run batted in.

Cleanup hitter Ian Gac was 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.

Playing in his first full=-season game, right fielder Joey Butler took home the golden sombrero, as he was 0-for-4 with four strikeouts.

Reliever Brennan Garr yielded only one Modesto hit in 2.2 innings of work.

The Blaze fell to 0-2 on the young season after Friday’s nightcap.

Starting pitcher Michael Main was bitten by a rough fourth inning, and he gave up four runs -- three earned -- in 4.2 frames. Main finished his outing by retiring eight of the final nine hitters he faced.

Bakersfield had no extra-base hits in the contest, but second baseman Matt Lawson (2/2, BB), Joey Butler (2/4) and Jonathan Greene (2/4) all singled twice.

Engel Beltre (1/3) and Renny Osuna (0/3) had single RBIs.

Lefty reliever Corey Young permitted two runs on three hits in 1.1 innings. He struck out two.
