Winterball Roundup - 10/25

John Bannister continued his excellent play in the Arizona Fall League with two scoreless innings on Saturday afternoon. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise 6 – Mesa 13

The Rafters saw their losing streak extended to seven games after Saturday's loss.

Willie Eyre got the start for Surprise and yielded two runs in four innings. He allowed four hits, walked one, and struck out eight.

John Bannister was outstanding in relief, recording four strikeouts in two shutout frames.

Third baseman John Whittleman (.115/.179/.231 in 26 at-bats) fanned twice in four hitless at-bats.

Mexican Pacific League

Obregon left fielder Steve Murphy went 0-for-4.

Venezuelan Winter League

Max Ramirez was 0-for-3 with two walks.

Free agent reliever Kendy Batista struggled, giving up three runs on two hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Magallanes leadoff hitter Elvis Andrus went hitless in five plate appearances.

Dominican Winter League

Jose Vallejo pinch ran and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning. He did not have an at-bat.
