The minor league season came to a disappointing conclusion for the Frisco RoughRiders on Monday night.
Starting pitcher Neftali Feliz surrendered four runs in three innings pitched. All of his runs allowed came in the third inning, when he gave up two triples and a double.
Things took a turn for the worse when reliever Andrew Laughter came in for the sixth inning. The big right-hander coughed up six runs – just one earned – on five hits in one-third of an inning. At one point, Arkansas hitters laid down four bunts in a span of five hitters against Laughter. The bunts resulted in two singles, two errors, and one sacrifice.
DH John Whittleman was 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
Jose Vallejo (1/4, 2B) and Dustin Majewski (2/4, 2B) both doubled.
Relievers Alfredo Gonzalez (2 IP), J.B. Diaz (2 IP) and Brennan Garr (1 IP) all threw scoreless ball out of the bullpen.
