Originally scheduled game two starter Tommy Hunter was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after being struck in the face by a line drive during batting practice.

Lee came through in a big way, as he hurled 6.1 shutout innings. The Fort Worth native scattered six hits while walking one and striking out four.

The RedHawks got off to a quick start against I-Cubs starter J.R. Mathes, scoring all six runs in the first three innings.

Ryan Roberts (1/3, 2 BB), Jason Ellison (1/3, BB) and Ben Harrison (1/4) all had run scoring singles in the second inning. Shortstop Casey Benjamin (2/5, 2B) had a two-RBI double in the frame.

Third baseman Travis Metcalf finished Oklahoma’s scoring for the night with a solo home run in the top of the third. He also drew a walk in the contest.

Hard-throwing reliever Joselo Diaz closed out the game with three strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning.

With the series knotted up at one game apiece, the RedHawks return home for the final three games, beginning on Friday evening.
