Although he lost, Eric Hurley delivered his best start of the season on Friday evening. The top prospect gave up three runs – two earned – on five hits in seven innings. Hurley walked one and struck out eight. He gave up one home run, a two-run shot from outfielder Travis Buck.
Hurley is being hit at a .302 clip in his first eight starts, but he also has 50 strikeouts in 42.2 innings this year.
Shortstop Joaquin Arias (.298/.330/.346) led the RedHawks with two singles in four at-bats. He also stole his eighth base of the season.
Taylor Teagarden singled and walked in four trips to the plate.
Left-hander Yukinaga Maeda retired the side on six pitches in his inning of work.

Frisco starter Mike Ballard was battered for 10 runs in just 2 2/3 innings. The left-hander gave up 10 hits, walked two, and struck out one.
Hooks killer Emerson Frostad (.301/.374/.534) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run.
Catcher Max Ramirez (.405/.485/.730) singled and doubled in his three at-bats.
Chris Davis (2/4) and Dustin Majewski (1/2, 2 BB) also reached base multiple times.
L – Hunter (4-4)
20-15, 5.0 GB
Tommy Hunter (3.75 ERA/.289 BAA) scattered nine hits over seven innings, giving up two runs. The Alabama product walked three and struck out five.
Centerfielder Julio Borbon (.327/.374/.425) doubled twice in four at-bats. He now has eight doubles in his last nine contests.
Catcher Manny Pina was 1-for-2, raising his average to .287.
W – Tatusko (1-1)
SV – Flores (2)

One day after being named co-Midwest League Player of the Week, shortstop Renny Osuna fell a homer short of the cycle, as he was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Osuna also walked and drove in three runs.
Tim Smith also tripled and drove in three runs. He was 2-for-5 in the game.
CF Engel Beltre (2/5) and C Jose Felix (2/4) had two hits apiece while Miguel Alfonzo went 1-for-2 with two walks.
Jorge Quintero lasted four innings in his start, giving up three runs. The right-hander yielded seven hits, walked one and struck out three.
Relievers Hector Nelo (2 IP) and Adalberto Flores (1 IP) each tossed hitless ball to close out the victory.
