Clinton starting pitcher Zach Phillips had his perfect game bid broken up with one out in the seventh inning on Friday evening. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

Oklahoma starting pitcher Mark Redman filled up the line score on Friday evening.

The former Oklahoma Sooner surrendered eight runs – seven earned – on eight hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out five.

Playing in his first minor league game of the season, right fielder Nelson Cruz was 2-for-4 with a double.

Jason Botts extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single and a walk in four plate appearances. Botts is hitting .484 (15/31) with 12 walks over that span.

Edinson Volquez (3.10 ERA/.211 BAA) continued to impress with the RoughRiders, as he allowed just two runs in 6 1/3 innings on Friday. The right-hander gave up five hits, walked one, and struck out five.

Volquez has walked just six batters over his last four starts, spanning 24 innings.

First baseman Jim Fasano (.298/.346/.488) was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

Pinch-hitter Adam Fox had a two-RBI triple in his only at-bat.

Casey Benjamin and Travis Metcalf each added two singles in four at-bats.

Clinton starting pitcher Zach Phillips (2.64 ERA/.239 BAA) had his perfect game bid broken up with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The southpaw finished with an outstanding line of seven innings pitched, one hit, no runs, no walks, and five strikeouts. Phillips has allowed one earned run or fewer in three of his last four starts.

Second baseman Jose Vallejo and catcher Manuel Pina were both 2-for-4 with a double.

Outfielder K.C. Herren (.333/.393/.570) singled, tripled, walked, and drove in three runs.
