Eric Hurley tossed a complete-game shutout against the Wichita Wranglers on Wednesday while Clinton outfielder David Paisano collected his first two hits in the Rangers organization. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

Wednesday night’s game in Omaha was postponed due to rain. The RedHawks and Royals will take part in a doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 5:05 p.m. local time.

Eric Hurley (1.83 ERA/.202 BAA) pitched arguably his best game as a pro on Wednesday, as he tossed a complete-game shutout. The right-hander out-dueled Luke Hochevar, who was last year’s number one overall pick.

In Hurley’s nine innings, he yielded five hits while walking one and fanning eight.

Second baseman German Duran (2/4) and DH Salmon Manriquez (1/4) each hit a home run, their second in as many days.

Every starter except Brandon Boggs, who was 0-for-3 with a walk, had at least one hit.

Left fielder Steve Murphy was 1-for-4 with three RBI.

DH Taylor Teagarden and third baseman Chris Davis each were 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk on Wednesday night. Twenty seven of Davis’ 40 hits this season have gone for extra bases.

Right fielder John Mayberry (.231/.307/.505) doubled and walked twice in four plate appearances.

First baseman Chris Kemp, who was recently promoted from extended spring training, was 0-for-4 with an error in his first game of the season.

Starting pitcher Ace Walker allowed six runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings. The right-hander walked one and struck out three.

Left-hander Zach Phillips (3.05 ERA/.260 BAA) got back on track on Wednesday. The native Californian gave up one run on six hits in six innings. Phillips walked just one and struck out six.

Third baseman John Whittleman (.373/.462/.676) went 2-for-4 with a double – his 14th – and a walk.

Catcher Chad Tracy pushed his average over .300 with two hits – including a double – in three at-bats.

Outfielder David Paisano had two singles in four at-bats.
