The Texas Rangers inked nine-year veteran Bruce Chen to a Minor League contract on Tuesday.
The Rangers made
Bruce Chen
the newest member of the organization on Tuesday, as the club gave the southpaw a Minor League contract with an invitation to spring training.
Chen, 29, will compete with a handful of other candidates for a job at the back of the Rangers' rotation.
The native of Panama joins his tenth organization in fourteen years of professional baseball. Chen set a career high in wins and innings pitched with the Baltimore Orioles in 2005, as he was 13-10 with a 3.83 earned run average in 34 games.
