Adam Wilk gave up seven runs (five earned) in just 2 1/3 innings and fell to 3-8 on the season. All seven runs were scored in the third inning. Ryan Strieby was the only Mud Hen with multiple hits, going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Justin Henry went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Toledo has lost five in a row and eight of nine.

Nick Castellanos went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, while Jordan Lennerton followed up with a second straight home run and also went 3-for-5. Jared Wesson gave up four earned runs over four innings and picked up the loss. Three Erie relievers each gave up one run the rest of the way. Erie went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

Thomas Collier allowed one earned run on three hits over six innings, but didn’t get much help and left with a no-decision. In the seventh, Nicholas Avila gave up three runs (two earned) and recorded the loss. No Whitecap had more than one hit. Aaron Westlake went 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Steven Moya went 1-or-4 with a double.

Jake Sabol gave up four earned runs in the top of the eighth and picked up the loss. Sabol pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief following Montreal Robertson, who allowed two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings. Three Tigers had three hits — Jared Reaves, Juaner Aguasvivas and Edgar Corcino — but the Tigers left 10 on base and went 7-for-17 with runners in scoring position. Bennett Pickar went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
