Aragua shortstop Luis Hernandez has cooled after his hot start in the postseason, but he remains at the top of his team's batting order. On Tuesday, the utility infielder went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He also brought home a run on a sacrifice fly.

Licey's Engel Beltre played a role in his club's come-from-behind victory, entering as a pinch runner in the seventh inning and scoring a run. He remained in the game and flew out to Escogido centerfielder Julio Borbon on the eighth.

Borbon, in the losing effort, went 0-for-3 with a strikeout. He also laid down a sacrifice bunt.

The Gigantes/Aguilas Cibaenas game was postponed.

Mexican Pacific League

There were no games on Tuesday. Jose Felix's Algodoneros de Guasave team leaves Culiacan, 3-2, in the best-of-seven semifinal series.

Puerto Rican Winter League

The Ponce club was eliminated from the postseason on Thursday, meaning Mayaguez will face Caguas in the Puerto Rican Winter League final best-of-nine series. Only two Rangers appeared in Puerto Rico this winter––both for Ponce.

Catcher Kevin Torres, 21, played in seven games for the Leones, going 2-for-7 with a walk and two strikeouts. Sidearming left-hander Alexander Claudio made three appearances––including one start––for Ponce and worked 5.2 scoreless innings, yielding five hits, walking four, and striking out four.
