Arizona Fall League: Surprise – OFF

As usual the Arizona Fall League was off on Sunday.



Venezuelan Winter League


No Rangers appeared in Sunday's games.



Dominican Winter League


Left fielder Julio Borbon went 0-for-3 with a walk, dropping his average to .175 in 16 contests. Borbon is 7-for-40 with a double, a triple, and a home run. He has drawn five walks and struck out seven times.

Fabio Castillo, a 40-man roster member coming off a disappointing season at Double-A Frisco, made his first winterball appearance of the season. The big fireballing righty struck out the only batter he faced to close out the eighth inning.

The Toros––Castillo's club––used 11 different pitchers in the nine-inning game, including six pitchers for the last six outs. The game was played in three hours and 40 minutes.



Mexican Pacific League


Obregon sidearmer Cody Eppley (3.00 ERA/.234 BAA) hurled a six-pitch scoreless inning on Sunday, working around one hit. The 26-year-old has the following line over his last seven appearances––7 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 10 k. He has also induced over 3.8 groundouts per flyout in 18 innings (17 appearances) thus far.



Puerto Rican Winter League


No Rangers appeared in Sunday's games.



Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)


There were no games on Sunday.
