RK: AZL Rangers 1 – AZL Angels 2

The Surprise Rangers’ collection of five pitchers were all strong on Monday, but the offense wasn’t able to get much going at all.

First baseman Kevin Torres, who went 3-for-4 and raised his average to .385, had half of the club’s hits. Ryan Rua (1/4, 2B) doubled while Jordan Akins (1/3) and Guy Edmonds (1/3) both singled.

Right-hander Taylor Dennis started the game and permitted a run on three hits in three innings. He fanned four without walking a batter.

All five of the pitchers threw strikes consistently––they combined to punch out 11 and didn’t have a walk.

Hurlers Andrew Faulkner, Jared Eickhoff, and Kyle DeVore all tossed a 1-2-3 inning apiece in making their professional debut.
