Dominican Winter League
There were no games on Thursday, as the league prepares for its four-team round robin playoff. The Gigantes, Toros, Leones, and Estrellas qualified for the playoffs. This means that Licey’s Engel Beltre is finished until the 2011 regular season.
Though Julio Borbon's Aguilas Cibaenas club didn't reach the playoffs, he was drafted by the Leones del Escogido and will play for them during the round robin.
The postseason is scheduled to begin on Saturday, December 26.
Puerto Rican Winter League
No Rangers appeared on Thursday.
Mexican Pacific League
Guasave catcher Jose Felix saw action as a late-inning defensive replacement, but he didn’t have a plate appearance.
Second baseman Brian Barden saw his average drop to .129 (4-for-31) after he went hitless in four trips on Thursday. The 29-year-old is batting just .129 in his first eight contests with Mazatlan.
