Ponce left-hander Zach Phillips continued to get back on the right track on Tuesday, as he worked a 1-2-3 inning out of the bullpen. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Venezuelan Winter League

The La Guaira club was limited to just three hits on Tuesday, and the two Rangers in its starting lineup were both held hitless. First baseman Max Ramirez went 0-for-4 with two punchouts while third baseman Renny Osuna was 0-for-3 with one strikeout.

Tiburones relief pitcher Joe Ortiz (4.00 ERA/.293 BAA) surrendered a run in 1.2 innings, though he didn’t allow a hit. He walked one and struck out two.

Endy Chavez (.240/.321/.290) moved into the leadoff spot for Magallanes and produced a single, two walks, and an RBI in five trips. Shortstop Andres Blanco, who moved down to the two hole, was 1-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt. Blanco committed his eighth error in 31 contests.

Right fielder Erold Andrus saw action for Magallanes as a late-inning defensive replacement. He didn’t get a plate appearance.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

The Bravos knotted the best-of-three championship series at one win apiece with an 8-4 victory over Caracas on Tuesday. No Rangers appeared in the game.

Dominican Winter League

Toros second baseman Esteban German (.312/.342/.404) had his 16-game hitting streak snapped when he went without a knock in five official at-bats.

Aguilas Cibaenas outfielder Julio Borbon moved closer to breaking out of a long slump by going 2-for-4 with a walk.

Engel Beltre played in center field and went 0-for-2, dropping his average to .333.

Puerto Rican Winter League

Ponce reliever Zach Phillips (6.75 ERA/.300 BAA in 5.1 innings) worked a perfect ninth inning on Tuesday, getting two groundouts and a flyout. After a rough start, Phillips hasn’t allowed a run in his last four appearances, spanning 3.1 frames.

Mexican Pacific League

Mazatlan middle infielder Brian Barden played both second base and shortstop and went 1-for-5 with a run batted in.
