Moscoso hurled six strong innings

Caracas right-hander Guillermo Moscoso limited his opposition to one unearned run over six innings on Wednesday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise – SEASON OVER

The Surprise Rafters wrapped up the campaign with a second-place finish in the Fall League's West Division. Ten different Rangers prospects appeared in at least one game. Right-hander Eric Hurley stood out among the group, as he finished with a streak of 20 consecutive scoreless innings over four starts.



Venezuelan Winter League


Caracas starting pitcher Guillermo Moscoso (2.42 ERA/.215 BAA) turned in an excellent start, working a season-high six innings and yielding only one unearned run. The right-hander gave up two hits, walked two, and struck out four.

Magallanes utility infielder Andres Blanco entered in the ninth inning and grounded out in his lone plate appearance.

Max Ramirez started both ends of a doubleheader between La Guaira and Margarita, playing DH in the first game and catching the second contest. Ramirez was a combined 1-for-5 with a walk, a sacrifice fly, and a run batted in.



Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

No Rangers appeared on Wednesday.



Dominican Winter League

Aguilas Cibaenas speedster and left fielder Julio Borbon had a single, a walk, and a stolen base in three plate appearances on Wednesday. The Aguilas offense combined for just three hits and two walks in the contest.

Left fielder Esteban German continued his hot start for the Toros, as he went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and his ninth stolen base in only 12 contests. The 32-year-old utility man is batting .341.

German went up against first baseman Chris Davis and the Estrellas Orientales. Davis was 2-for-4 with a single and his second double.

Engel Beltre entered in the eighth inning as a pinch runner. He went to left field for the final two frames but didn't get a plate appearance.



Puerto Rican Winter League

No Rangers appeared on Wednesday.



Mexican Pacific League


The circuit has begun its 2010 campaign, but there will be no Rangers players participating this season.
