Snyder got the start for Ponce

Left-hander Ben Snyder tossed three scoreless innings for Ponce of the Puerto Rican Winter League on Monday evening. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise – SEASON OVER

The Surprise Rafters wrapped up the campaign with a second-place finish in the Fall League's West Division. Ten different Rangers prospects appeared in at least one game. Right-hander Eric Hurley stood out among the group, as he finished with a streak of 20 consecutive scoreless innings over four starts.



Venezuelan Winter League


There were no games on Monday.



Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

Caracas shortstop Edwin Garcia was 0-for-3 with a strikeout. The 19-year-old is 5-for-23 (.217) with three walks and two punchouts in eight Liga Paralela contests.



Dominican Winter League

There were no games scheduled in the Dominican Republic on Monday.



Puerto Rican Winter League

After making a relief appearance on Saturday, 25-year-old lefty Ben Snyder got the start for Ponce on Monday evening. The former Giants prospect worked three shutout innings, giving up two hits and one walk. He struck out one.

Snyder spent much of his 2010 regular season as a long reliever and spot-starter at Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma City. However, he is largely considered a lefty specialist prospect because of his funky delivery, fringy fastball, and deceptive sweeping breaking ball.



Mexican Pacific League


The circuit has begun its 2010 campaign, but there will be no Rangers players participating this season.
