1-2, 0.5 GB

Surprise dropped its second consecutive game, but the only Rangers prospect to appear in the contest was catcher Jose Felix. The 22-year-old Mexico native batted ninth and went hitless in four plate appearances. He grounded out twice, flew out once, and popped out once.

Right-hander Eric Hurley, who hasn't appeared in a game since he pitched against the Oakland Athletics on July 27, 2008, is set to get the start for the Rafters on Friday afternoon.

After playing shortstop in his first two games, La Guaira leadoff hitter Renny Osuna moved over to third base and went 1-for-4 with a base on balls. The 25-year-old committed two errors––one fielding, one throwing––at the position.

Nine-hole hitter David Paisano was 0-for-4, striking out once and grounding into one double play.

Lefty specialist Joe Ortiz earned his second hold of the season in his second outing. The diminutive reliever induced a groundout to the only hitter he faced.

Former Rangers minor/major league pitchers Brian Gordon, Kendy Batista, Sam Narron, Darwin Cubillan, and Matt Riley all appeared in the La Guaira/Caracas contest.

Mexican Pacific League

The circuit has begun its 2010 campaign, but there will be no Rangers players participating this season.
